Johnny Forrest (33) Poquoson HS, OF had a very good work out and swung the bat well in the game Posting a 7.56 sixty time and a 4.71 home to first base time. Infielder with good arm strength and soft hands, quicker transfers to come, with 77mph arm strength in the workout. Showed solid power in the box with good bat speed and balance with 75 mph radar tee. Good young player.
Gavin Horton, a LHP with 72mph fb with good command for age, 58 cb with decent spin, 61 change up. Lean frame , looks to end up being tall with good arm action. Ran a 7.28 sixty and 4.44 home to first time. Worked out in the OF and showed 70mph arm strength. Solid approach at the plate with developing strength and showed very good age appropriate power with 76mph radar tee reading.
Keenan Caldwell (37) is a 2013 2b form Cosby HS in Richmond, VA who posted a 8.47 sixty time and 4.94 home to first base time in the workout. Good game swings and showed 68mph radar tee velocity. At second base he showed knowledge of footwork and developing arm strength with 64 mph velocity across the infield. Young and just starting the grow look for all his tools to continue to develop with maturity. Good feel for the game.
Matthew Dross (59) is a 2012 catcher with very good skills behind the plate. Showed excellent 2.10 pop time and 73mph arm strength behind the plate. A lean, athletic frame that looks to be getting stronger, he will be in the sub 2.0's real soon. In the box he showed excellent power for his age and posted a very impressive 83 mph radar tee reading. Big upside potential here.
Joshua Davis (39) is a name to remember, you will hear it again. A tall lean RHP with very good command of 4 pitches. Easy fluid delivery with a extended 3/4 arm slot, ball jumps out of hand. Showed a heavy 78mph fb, 67mph cb, 74mph slider, and 72mph change up. Showed 74mph arm strength in the infield and solid 74mph radar tee. Athletic hitter with good age appropriate power.
Knows how to pitch. Big projection.
Will Thomas (69) showed the best power at the event and maybe some of the best in the nation for a 2012 player. Will launched two ball out of the pro park and hit another off the wall in bp. Excellent bat speed and torque in swing. Worked out at 3b with 71mph arm strength across the infield. Frame built for 3b with 8.06 sixty speed. On the mound, the rhp showed very good arm strength with 80mph fb velocity, 65mph cb, and 69mph change up. Showed good command of all pitches. Should only get better.
Brandon Harvell (34) was the quickest player at the event posting a 6.88 sixty time which is outstanding for this 2013 player from York HS. An OF with good actions to the ball and showed solid 73 mph arm strength. In the box he showed excellent 82mph radar tee. In the games he hit the ball and showed a short quick stroke with big upside power. Top position player at event.
Collin Wilber (17) 2012 from Grafton, HS is a catcher with very good arm strength posting a 2.11 pop time and 68 mph velocity. Accuracy was average for age and pop time should only get quicker with increased arm strength. Posted a 8.51 sixty time and 4.89 home to first base time. In the box he has good balance and a short stroke with age average power and posted a 73mph radar tee reading. Bat and arm tell you , more there. Good projection.
Jimmy Liu (58) is a 2010 OF from Urbanna HS with very good speed, posting a 7.03 sixty time and 4.25 home to first base time. In the OF he posted 75mph arm strength with solid carry on throws. Athletic to the ball and fluid through release. In the box he showed goo balance and above ave hs bat speed. Posted 75mph radar tee and a frame that will only get stronger. Look for big gap to gap power as he matures. On the mound he showed 70mph fb, 56mph cb, and 59mph change up. Frame and speed say he will be in the OF in the future. Good upside.
Nick Kurz (35) is a 2013 from Grafton HS who can realy fly posting a 6.91 sixty time and 4.19 home to first base time. A infielder with good feet and solid arm strength showing 71mph across the infield. Very strong for age with 78mph radar tee and advanced tools in the box hitting. Very quick bat speed and balance. Excellent projection.
JP Gaffney (40) is a 2013 2b from Hampton Roads Academy who posted a 7.78 sixty time and 4.91 home to first base time. In the batters box he has quiet approach and short bat path. Showed age average power with 68mph radar tee. In the infield he showed good footwork around the bag and age ave arm strength with 67mph velocity across the infield.
Michael Day (38) is a 2013 3b from Cosby HS in Richmond, VA who posted a 7.97 sixty time and 5.13 home to first base time. In the field he showed age average arm strength with 65mph velocity across the infield. Simple approach in the box hitting with good balance and solid power showing 75mph reading on the radar tee. Moves well to the ball and has clean transfers in the infield. Developing.
Zachary Colls (55) 2012 from Grafton HS with excellent 6.87 sixty speed and 4.43 home to first base time. A Infielder who can move well to either side and get to balls with excellent range, he posted very good 74mph arm strength across the infield. In the batters box he has advanced hand strength and power and posted a 78mph radar tee reading. Uses the field and has very good power projection. Exciting young player.
Coleman Ingram (66) is a 2013 from Grafton HS who can swing it. In the box he uses a simple approach and gets the bat head to the ball. Above ave power for his age with good leverage at contact. Posted a 75mph radar tee reading. A first baseman with developing skills around the bag. Arm strength is coming and should only get better, he posted a 65mph velocity reading during work out. Hit well in the game.
Brian Lee (18) is a 2011from Cox HS in Virginia Beach, VA. A second baseman who can really run, posting a hot 6.67 sixty time and 4.09 home to first base time. In the infield he has advanced hands and college tools around the bag. Showed 75mph arm velocity in workout. Soft hands and very quick transfers will play well in college. In the box he has a simple approach and very short, quick bat path. Excellent bat speed and showed 81mph exit velocity on radar tee. Most advanced player at event.
