Many college recruiters and pro scouts already have Ty Washington 2011-OF/SS on their radar, and after the skills combine held at Mountain View College on Jan 31st, many more will.
Ty Washington is a 2011 5'11-155lb primary OF attending Plano East HS living in Richardson, TX. Ty posted a 84mph OF arm velocity reading and a 77mph IF velocity during the workout. Ty has to be listed in the top positional players in the class of 2011 from the state of Texas. Speed, power, and arm strength will have pro scouts as well as college recruiters interested in him. Ty posted a 6.71sixty, a 4.89 forty, and 3.91 home to first base time on a 31 degree January day. A RH hitter with college level bat speed and ave college power. Power does project very well and balance and very good hand strength indicates he could hit with wood when the time comes. Ty put up a 85mph radar tee reading. With smooth, polished action in the outfield, Ty posted a 84mph arm strength grade and showed advanced body control and quickness. His speed and arm strength will play at any of the three OF spots. In the infield workout, Ty showed 77mph arm velocity and a polished glove. Ty has very good body control and has college level range to both sides. Looks to be a very nice SS at the next level. With soft hands and very nice, out front, glove action, Ty is very quick with transfers on double plays and showed very good accuracy with all his throws. Top "National" level player who will get a lot of college as well as pro interest over the next 18 months.
