Travis Cherry, 2011 SS/RHP, Kings Fork HS Virginia

Travis Cherry brings defensive skills at SS and will be a threat at the plate.  Cherry is a 2011- 5'9/160lbs athlete attending Kings Fork HS in Suffolk, VA.  Travis posted a 7.27 sixty yard and a 5.01 forty yard times.  In the infield workout, Travis showed very good hands with quick transfers and soft glove action.  He can cover ground and has enough arm strength to throw runners out from the hole.  Showed 77mph arm strength across the infield.  Recruiters may want to see him move over the second base in college.  A RH hitter with good balance in swing and a short bat path.  Cherry has good hand strength and will use the whole field.  Very good situational hitter with  a quiet approach and really battles at the plate.  Strong college projection on bat.  Should be very good 2 hole hitter.  Athletic player and he will go to the mound when need and competes well with upper 70''s fb.  We see a table setting 2 hole hitter with very good glove and feet.  College projection.
